Lifetech™ ECR enzyme carriers are methacrylic or styrenic polymers with various functional groups on the matrix. These enzyme carriers are made in 150 - 300 and 300 - 700 micron mean particle size range. For food applications, they are also available in 300 - 1200 micron.
Lifetech™ ECR enzyme carriers are physically, chemically and mechanically very stable with negligible swelling tendency when placed in aqueous solutions or organic solvents. The matrix can be methacrylic or styrenic providing the optimal degree of hydrophilicity or hydrophobicity depending on the specific application.
High cross-linking ensures mechanical stability and high functional group density allows intense multipoint covalent binding and consequent negligible enzyme leakage. Immobilization via ionic interaction/adsorption is achieved with weak or strong base resins which allows regeneration after enzyme exhaustion.
